Frequently asked questions

What is the server IP?

DiploSMP.com on port 25565 — the default, so you can leave the port blank.

What version does it run?

Minecraft Java Edition 26.2. Older clients are rejected at the connect screen.

Do I need mods?

No. Everything works on a plain vanilla client. Fabric and packs like Fabulously Optimized are welcome but never required.

Is there a whitelist or an application?

No. Connect and play. There is no form, no Discord interview, and no waiting.

Does it work on Bedrock, console or phone?

No — Java Edition only. Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, mobile and the Windows 10/11 Bedrock edition cannot connect.

Is it free?

Yes, entirely. The Donor Kit exists to cover hosting and is cosmetic only.

Is it pay-to-win?

No, and it is built so it cannot become so. Nothing purchasable affects gameplay — no currency, no items, no boosts.

Will my base get griefed?

Not if you claim it. Land claims are free for every player and protect blocks and chests. See the rules.

Is PvP on?

Yes. Border disputes between nations are meant to be settled in game — but never by griefing a protected claim.

Can I change my name?

Once. Every player gets a single optional nickname change, with a warning before it locks permanently.

How big is the server?

30 slots at present, and it will grow as the population does.

Where do I start?

How to join walks through setup, then /rtp to find land and /sethome to mark it.
